Hiring Dick Biggs – His Promises To You

  • Dick is very prompt about returning messages. However, if you're trying to reach him by email and it's urgent, the fastest way to contact Dick is to leave a voice mail at 770-886-3035 (office) or 770-262-0340 (cell).

  • Dick will talk to you by telephone--or in person if you're in the Atlanta area--to discuss your specific program needs and desired results.

  • Dick will provide a simple 1-page Speaker Agreement with all the important details of the engagement.

  • Dick will do his homework. He'll look at your organization's website. He'll interview key leaders and meeting attendees to find out about current challenges, changes, opportunities and more. He'll learn as much as possible about your history, culture, products, services, etc. He'll inquire about your program theme. He'll ask about your desired program balance i.e., proper percentage of content, humor, inspiration, interaction or anything else you'd like included. Finally, depending upon how much time there is to prepare, Dick will do everything possible to customize his message for your meeting.

  • Dick will prepare program materials (1-sheets, handouts, etc.) and send the masters well in advance so you can duplicate as needed. He won't read a boring PowerPoint presentation that participants could have perused in their free time.

  • Dick will let you know in advance of any meeting room requirements--wireless microphone, flip chart/white board, prop table, video equipment, etc.

  • Dick will stay in touch by telephone and email between the time he's hired and the date of the engagement.

  • Dick's bio can be found at www.biggspeaks.com under "About BOLD!" Use as much or as little of this material to create a suitable introduction of your own. Or, if you prefer and upon request, Dick will send a special introduction.

  • Dick will let you know when he arrives at the meeting site. Dick will get the proper amount of sleep prior to the program to ensure that maximal energy and enthusiasm is brought to the platform.

  • Dick will arrive early on the date of the engagement to check out the meeting room, test equipment, distribute materials, greet program participants, etc.

  • Dick likes to begin a program on time because a late start penalizes the people who arrive promptly and starts the day off on a negative note. He'll end his presentation exactly at the time you stipulate.

  • Dick will never use foul language, tell dirty jokes, embarrass audience members, insult a particular group of people, or do anything else unprofessional.

  • Dick will never use any of his allotted presentation time to sell resources from the platform. However, he often gives away his resources for audience participation.

  • If you'd like to make Dick's resources available to your program participants, there are two options: (1) Buy in advance for each attendee at special bulk rates and your order will shipped in advance. (2) Provide a back-of-the-room display area where attendees can purchase these resources prior to and/or after the program. If you choose option 2, it would be helpful if your organization provides some volunteers to collect funds so that Dick is free to autograph books, answer questions, etc.

  • Except for unavoidable travel circumstances, Dick will stay after the program to talk with participants, autograph books, etc.

  • Dick will follow-up after the meeting and keep in touch periodically via mail, email and telephone.

  • In business since 1982, Dick relies primarily on repeat business and referrals. If you're satisfied with the results of the program, Dick welcomes testimonial letters. The best ones include positive comments from participants and how Dick customized his message to connect with the audience and your organization.

  • Dick will never make unusual or expensive travel demands such as first-class airfare, luxury hotel accommodations, limo service, etc. In short, he'll treat your organization's money like it was his own. He'll forward an invoice and all travel receipts for reimbursement after the program. Travel expenses include coach roundtrip airfare, airline baggage fees, lodging, meals, ground transportation and Atlanta Airport parking.

  • Dick has never missed a meeting or been late for one. He doesn't want this streak to end with your organization. In the event of his sickness, disability or family emergency, which hasn't happen to date, Dick will make every effort to find a suitable replacement speaker. Because Dick often receives multiple requests to speak on the same date, his programs can't be cancelled for any reason due to irreplaceable loss of income. In the event of inclement weather or a natural disaster preventing Dick or program attendees from reaching the meeting site, he'll speak at a future meeting based upon the agreed price despite any fee increases in the interim.
